Question 1:

Can I hear my regular TV programm with the DVD Home Arena 5.1?

Answer 1:

a) No, this is not directly possible because the DVD device is just a player. All connections at the rear are outputs - as well as the Scart and the optical connection.

Solution: You have the possibility to place an audio "switch-box" between the two devices you wish to connect to the Home Arena 5.1. This extra device is available by any good electronic shop for ca. 15 to 40 Euro!

b) The DVD 5.1 is designed to play DVDs and audio CDs you lay in the player. If you use the player in a different way as described in the manual, you may damage the DVD player and your guarantee will be void!

Question 2:

The drawer doesnt close properly!

Answer 2:

This problem can have two reasons: 1) the drawer cover is not snapped correctly. 2) The DVD drive is not fixed properly. Please get in contact with us - the device is under circumstances defect and has to be exchanged.

Question 3:

Why do I just get sound through the front speakers (DVD and CD)?

Answer 3:

In the setup menu -> sound output, it is necessary to select "5.1ch". For an audio-CD the option "2ch ->5.1ch" has to be activated.

Question 4:

I can not control the volume on the subwoofer with the remote control. (Happens mostly when I turn the subwoofer on.)

Answer 4:

The subwoofer as well as the DVD have to be turned off i.e. the power switch to off - no electrical current. After a few seconds you can put the power back on (first the DVD player.). Then the problem should be solved.

Question 5:

Question 7:

Question 8:

Even after setting everything correctly I still can not hear 5.1 sound.

Answer 8:

It is often necessary to additionnaly select the 5.1 track on the DVD movie. This can be done in the DVD movie menu itself or when the film is played with the "audio" button on the remote control. When sound is still not present on all the speakers, please control (on the back side of the DVD box) if your DVD movie has  a 5.1 track. Some DVD movies are stereo!

Question 9:

My audio CD can not be played.

Answer 9:

Some audio CDs have a copy protection. These mediums will not be played from the DVD player. Since the DVD player's drive reads CDs or DVDs which correspond to the world-wide established Redbook Standard, problems can occur with copy protected CDs. This problem is based on the fact that CDs or DVDs with actual copy protection do not have the Redbook Standard, even if they are sold as Redbook Standard. The same problematic can be determined with the m3po-player. Unfortunately we can only ask you to contact your CD or DVD retailer and inform them that the CDs or DVDs are useless for you because the Redbook Standard is not kept.

Question 10:

I have done all settings but the image is scrambled or black and white.

Answer 10:

Using the remote control of the DVD player, you can set the Video channel  with the "video" button. This option should always be setted to "normal" - in some cases this has to stand at "S-RGB". Furthermore, you can set the TV norm with the "N/P" button - most European countries (EU) have the PAL norm.

Question 11:

Where do I have to connect the cables with the green jack?

Answer 11:

These cables are only interresting if you plan using your Home Arena with a PC that has a 5.1 sound card.

y

Question 12:

Why do the rear speaker sound so low? When I play CDs, they are loud!

Answer 12:

These channels are just designed to deliver special effects. Therefore they are not so loud and the sounds reproduced might sometimes sound unclear. When playing an audio CD the strereo signal is converted in a virtual 5.1 format. This setting has first to be made in the setup. Please see FAQ nr.3.
